can't boot into windows, need major HELP!!

ok im gonna make this short. i was cleaning out my comp, i disconnected and took out the power suplly and cleaned it too. then when i go to power up my computer, it POSTS and then gives me a disk boot failure and "insert disk" to continue (or something like that). ok so then i try clearing the cmos and it works and i get into windows. then when i restart my comp, it kept on rebooting after hte win xp logo comes up (after the part where the bar moves across the bottom of the win xp logo). so then i fugure that the partation table is corrupted and i reinstall windows. then i reboot several times and everything is fine. i then turn it off, move it near my tv to watch a movie and again its giving me the same boot error. ive treid several times to clear cmos, but with no luck. PLEASE HEELP ME!!!!!!!!!

btw........im runnign an abit nf7-s, 2500+, maxtor 40 gb hdd (which does some clicking and i think its on its way out).

thanx fot any help.

I believe your hard has already left.

Do you have a spare drive you could hook up and at least test out the system with?

i treid that one b4 but it would ony detect my Sata channels (even though they were disabled from bios) and there was no option for selecting ide channels. i can't run it now since my spare com doesn't ave a floppy drive of a cd writer so im stuck. it has to be the HDD right? but then how was it that i was able to partation it and reinstall windows? and that it would reboot if i did it from windows but not a cold boot? ok now im confusing myself lol.
