Why am I so slow on Sandra

I just upgraded to a PIV 2.8Ghz 512K, and I was doing some benchmarking with SiS Sandra. I can't understand why my CPU benchmark comes in so low. At 3.06Ghz I am getting 7900+ MIPS Dhry w/o HT on win 2K, and @ 2.8Ghz I get 7000+ MIPS with HT enabled.

Why does it seem that I should be getting 8500+ at only 2.8Ghz? Any ideas?

Also, when I am OC'ed at 220Mhz FSB (880Mhz), Sandra says that I have over rated my RAM. But, I have PC 3700 RAM. It should be able to do 233Mhz.

The funny thing is that when I did try to go to 233Mhz FSB the system crashes. I thought it was funny but I did not really worry about it at first. Is it possible that my RAM is only 200Mhz? It says PC3700 right on the package!

Help, anyone have any ideas?

Try running AquaMark and see what you get.

Well, aquamark does show that I when I OC my 9600 it makes a difference. But, the CPU comes in @ 7849.

What the heck gives here?

Up to date mainboard drivers? Dunno. Odd. If anyone here has similar cpu it would be better to compair to.

Yeah, this is driving me crazy.

I have an ABIT IS7 running windows 2K. Is it because windows 2K does not do well with HT?

How about somebody else with a 2.8Ghz on windows 2k. What is your score? Hopefully faster than 7900+ MIPS?

Well, i guess that it is correct. There are 2 choices under Sandra. One with SMT 2.8Ghz (must be HT enabled) and one without SMT. My system does match with the reference 2.8Ghz system without the SMT.

Huh, well maybe it is worth it to have XP?
