Radeon 9800

I seem to have a minor problem with my very new graphics card, i purchased it as a Radeon 9800 Non-Pro, but when I installed it, it reads it as a Radeon 9800 Pro... is there a utility i can use to check the pipelines and core mhz and memory mhz?

reason it shows as a "PRO" is they are built on the same board. It's normal to show as a 9800 Pro. I have the same card and the same thing shows. As for a utility try www.Rage3d.com . They have several applications. I use Rage3d Tweak myself to overclock the card or what ever. Your card should be clocked at the Non Pro speed 324/290

You can flash the NP's to pro setting... I think it may be only the sapphire cards though...

Let me look into it.

I think it is only the Sapphire cards because of the Ram, samsung 2.2ns i think, but i'm not sure what this card is because it came in an OEM box.

ATI uses Infinion 3.0 Memory. If it's a true ATI card not "POWERED BY ATI". And you cannot flash it to the PRO because the Infinion cannot handle the Samsung speed. Only cards with Samsung memory will work.

The flashable cards are the ones using Samsung 3.3ns or faster (lower number) rated ram... The infinion ram rated even at 3ns won't cut it as sweeper mentioned... However, there are some early model BBA 9800np with samsung ram that are flashable. I know this because I ordered one from ebay for my cousin and had a successfull flash.
