Uh- go back to the 486 era and then go from there! Search google for AMD vs Intel 486. THen Pentium vs K6. THen Pentium 2 vs. K6-2. P3 vs XP. P4 vs. Xp. P4 EE and Prescott vs. Athlon 64.
To sum it up in MY opinion and useage of past cpu's.
486 and 386 was intels era! Except when they stopped upping clock speed after the DX chips and amd kept going up. This was AMD's first sign of hesitation to abandon a socket type. Somthing most amd users depend on! I had a 133mhz 486 that was a AMD upgrade.
K6 wooped Pentium. score 1 for amd
K6-2 got wooped by P2. One for Intel
XP wooped P3 and early P4's. A big score for amd
P4 EE and Athlon 64 pretty close.
Negligable who's better right now.
Its been touch and go on who's faster with each generation. Lucky for us cause no ones been the complete under dog for long. Which would mean the lose of a co.
