Hard Drive Overlay Question

Hi
I have a 40Gb hard drive in an older pc (P3 500Mhz vintage)
which is BIOS limited to about 8Gb. I have the pc running with Win98SE and it runs fine. What I would like to do is setup some overlay software (like EZDrive) so I can use the entire 40Gb. Is it possible to do this on a drive that is currently formatted and running or do I have to reformat and start over?

Thanks in advance
Arjay13

Unless thing have changed since I last did this, you will have to format and start over.

Before doing this, see if you can can a bios update on your motherboard. This may allow for the bigger drives to be recognized. Although your data still lies on a 8GB partition so I dont know what this will solve.

I would try to avoid the overlay software if you can but it is nice to have if theres no other choice for older systems.
