2.4 GHz Phone interfere with my 802.11g?

I need a new phone, the old one on it's last legs.

Do you think a 2.4 GHz phone will interfere with my USR turbo 802.11g wireless router?

Thanks
Allan

802.11g works on 2.4GHz, same as the phone your wanting. Many people have no troube with this combo, but many people do have trouble.

If it was me I would either buy a 900mhz phone or go for the 5.8 ghz phones that are relatively new on the market.

I know what your saying about the 900MHz, I have one already and there's no problems, but it's on it's last legs... The only reason I was looking at a 2.4GHz is because I was goingto purchase it with my Airmiles.... LOL

I have a 900Mhz phone in my room, and there is a 2-handset 2.4Ghz Uniden system in other parts of our (tiny) house. In order for me to use those phones in the same room as my Netgear 802.11g router, I logged into it and switched to channel 2. You should be able to do the same. If it drops your connection on channel 12 or whatever, go to channel 1 or 2.

See if that works.

ArcticFox is right... changing the channel will change the frequency on the wireless router... that should fix the issue if any at all.

I know with our Panasonic, regardless of what phone channel I am on, if I have the phone near my wireless card when there is heavy usage, aka downloading, it's impossible to talk on the phone.

Never had a problem with the analog one. I want the analog one back. I hate the digital garbage out now.

Run channel 8 on the router. (default 6)
