Outdoors new type of popup ad?

hey all. i keep getting these damn popup ads that arent web based, its more of a prompt window. it shows up in the task manager as 'messenger service'

im running norton internet security 2004, but i have no idea how to ad this to a block list seeing as theres no web address attached to it. take a gander at the picture and hopefully someone knows how to stop these, its getting really annoying

thanks-

control panel --> administrative tools --> services --> disable the 'messenger' service

nasty messenger service spam

kill it like this

click start--run

type services.msc

click ok

scroll down to messenger and double clikk it

click stop.............to stop it

then set start up type to disable

no more pop ups of this kind!!!!!

don't use pop up stoppers to stop these pop ups cos they'll kll legitmate windows as well

NOTE this is not your msn messenger thats a different kind of nuisance altogether.

If it isn't MS blowing it with holes in the OS, it's the spammers and the hackers screwing with us.

OK first you hadn't read the FAQ about no sigs, now you've never heard of this problem!?

I'm suprised we don't have a FAQ thread about this one
