Kids Those cheap Syntax mobos w/ integrated CPU's

Tiger Direct has recently dumped a bunch of these mobos as many of you know. I picked up one of the models with the 1.3 GigaPro CPU (model s635mp). It uses up to 1 gig of DDR ram and has a 266 FSB. I'm curious about using it in an MP3 server with an external soundcard. My current server works great but I am unhappy with the amount of fan noise... It uses a P4 2gig CPU with a 400 FSB and a stock Intel heatsink and fan in an Antec Minuet home theater case. Without multiple fans it runs hot.

This case uses half height cards (low profile).

I wondering if the Syntax will run cooler and more quietly? Comments from anyone who has experience with such boards would be appreciated.

I've heard reports that the Syntax boards with the integrated Via GigaPro are poorly performing units. Some have compared results and found that they are comparable to a 400 or 500 mhz processor. That being said, it will likely work as an adequate mp3 server. Additionally, it will likely run much cooler and quieter than the P4 because, if I remember correctly, the GigaPro cpus are supplied with a passive heatsink. So your only concern would be providing enough cirulation through the case. A single 80mm fan would likely suffice.
