NAV 2004 Install Problem

After I do the initial system scan, which took forever, the Norton install screen pops up. When I click install I go to the license screen. Before I can check the agree box, the screen dissapears and I'm left staring at my desktop. Any suggestions???

Yeah, Nortons kind of stupid when its installed on a computer with viruses. Had the same problem last week. Norton installed fine but when Id doubleclick it, it wouldnt do anything. I didn't actually solve the problem I just reformated the hd as it was a fresh install. I guess some kind of internet virus scanner would work ?

I did the system scan before I installed Norton & it came up clean. Do you think I have a virus that Norton didn't pick up that's screwing up the install???

Same exact thing was happening to me. Norton would come up clean on the initial scan, yet I knew there was some kind of virus on the pc because cpu time was at 100% all the time, and it wanted to connect to the net all the time.

After that when Id start Norton it would shut down in a moment or not appear at all. My pc would run fine in safe mode but norton wouldnt. I tried some other virus scans like adaware and nod32 (?) and they didnt show anything except that nod couldnt scan the memory.

What Im guessing is that the virus screws the norton installation.

As I've said I didnt solve my problem. I just reformated both hd and reinstalled everything again.

I ran Solo antivirus scanner & it did come up with 2 trojans which I deleted. The program said it couldn't clean a trojan so I had to delete it. So I tried installing NAV again & I still have the same problem. I think I may try doing the system scan again before I try to install it once again. Maybe the trojans were screwing me up...

The virus list on your install disk is old. Somthing got my computer last week and norton was up to date. What ever it was, disabled norton, spybot, and outlook express. I had to format.
