vinyl dye rocks!

go into any car parts store and buy vinyl seat cover paint, lol...same as vinyl dye. Or by "fusion" from walmart.

It easy to use....but remember..its DYE not paint....so, it has to sort of SOAK in....so the trick is dont put it on thick....dont try to get 100% coverage on each coat....and dont hold it too close to the surface...hold it like 2 feet back....just put a really light coat on until its like 75% covered..because it will soak in....let it dry for 15 minutes or so....then put another light coat on....several light coats until its covered.

If you get it too thick it will "pool up" and get all milky looking...I dont know anyway to fix it after that...so keep the coats light.

It will look like a factory job usually.

I have to say, I SUCK when painting or anything crafty in the least, and even I made vinyl dye look even and good.

You just have to take it really slow, using several very light coats and it comes out great.

piano man, keep in mind flat black has a nasty tendancy to pick up any fingerprints/smudges etc. and its a pain to get rid of those.

That's another advantage of vinyl dye--you don't need to sand down the texture on the plastic, so if you keep the usual light texture that it comes with, you don't have a fingerprint issue.

My flat black mouse here isn't showing any, nor is my black monitor (except on the screen).
