My monitor won;t turn on. I turn my pc on and the light of the monitor went on and than the light went out. I disconnected the monitor and connected an old monitor and this one is working. What could i do to get my monitor back on? It's a 17 inch Nokia

Aye. This is a free service and you shouldnt yell. Also we cant read your mind, please give us system details.

You need to test the nokia monitor on a differnet known working system. If it still dont work then get it serviced or replace it. If it does work then its likely a problem in your PC. We need to qualify where the problem is first. It is likely that the Nokia is the culprit since your 15 inch is working fine.

If you havent already tried it, make sure the power cable is plugged in securely especially if its an lcd. The kind that have the power supply box along the cord with anothe rpower cord attached.

Also check your video cable and make sure no pins are bent and its firmly seated at both ends.

If the monitor has a reset button on the control panel try it.

do you know what the refresh rate is set on?

clcik the desktop...settings..advanced...look for "adapter" or "display modes"....maybe the refresh rate is too high and the monitor cant handle it anymore.

See what the refresh rate is.

I would hope he is powering the pc on with the monitor attached.

If not then may just be the refresh rate and if it is go into safe mode and change it or use the othe rmonitor and change it to default.

yes...I didnt think of that, try safe mode and see what happens....that is the only way to fix it anyway if you only had the one monitor....for instance if it went to the shop and they worked on it..and it came back with a 95hz refresh rate and your monitor simply wouldnt give a picture...in that case you just go to safe mode and change it.
