Can I translate ***.VOM into ***.COM when I misspell?

Sometimes I'll type in an address and instead of ".com" or ".org" it will come out ".com" or ".com " and the like. I use a combo of IE, Opera, and Firebird (mainly Opera), and is there a plugin to autocorrect this small annoyance?

BTW - a lot of the time I'm using my laptop with it's cramped keyboard, which is why I screw up.

well, I think you could edit your HOSTS file in windows. And, that should be browser-independent. Let me try it real quick.

Well, HOSTS file won't work for that. And, I can't find anything like that for all browsers. Though, some browsers have settings for stuff like that.

Alright, thanks for trying. I use Opera mainly, I think it has more features I need (like when you double-click on a word, the right-click menu pops up so you can just hit "Copy") than FireFox or Mozilla or IE.

Setup autocomplete and don't type anything in (already setup by default)

just type http://techimo

Or. type in "techimo" and press control + enter. (it auto-adds www. and .com)
