Serious nv4_disp.dll problems

so i just formatted and ive got a GF4 Ti4600, Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo, and im having some crazy issues with my display.

Ive tried both the 53.03 and the 42... (whatever) drivers and both give me the same thing 800x600 with 4 bit color. awesome.

anyways, sometimes i get random lines across my asus boot logo, and even in the windows boot screen, but when i boot up in safe mode everything seems to be okay and the drivers (how i put them in in the first place) seem to take.

And even before i had it running with the new 53.03 drivers and it worked perfectly.

I dont really get it, ive seen a lot of stuff on forums about people haveing the same problems, and they all seem to think is driver issues.

I really hope my card isnt destroyed, I didnt even do anythign to it, it just started one day... and cooling isnt a problem, ive got it watercooled.

help.. please?

instead of uninstalling the nvidia display driver just use the display properties tab, then update the driver like in the picture. most of the 43.xx drivers are stable.

heres a pic, and the next screen just use the "have disk option" and browse to the folder where the extracted detonator drivers are. usually C:\nvdia\win2k-xp\etc...

ive had my share of nvidia problems myself with a ti-4200. its the drivers.

ive heard about the "detonater" drivers... what are the difference btw those and the ones nvidia gives you... or are those them?
