DECREASING HARD DISK SPACE C:\
Pls HELP. I could still remember that before I installed the Service Pack 4, the remaining hard disk space of C:\ drive of our server is 1.3GB. After I installed SP4, I noticed that the drive has only 900+ MB of disk space left. No question about it. After this, I no longer install any program or save data in the C:\ drive so as not to eat up the remaining disk space. But here's the PROBLEM: I just found out lately that the remaining 900+MB has now been decreased or reduced to 573MB! And it keeps on decreasing from time to time. I'm really worried on this because the server might not work normally because of the decreasing disk space. What seems to be the problem? I already tried virus scanning and no virus was traced. I even customized my Recycle Bin settings hoping that I could still regain the more disk space but still it doesn't work. Thanks

You should fairly easily be able to get properties of individual folders, and then see what folder is increasing in size. After that, it's pretty easy to know what's going on.

If you are running XP'S restore option, stop it. You will LOSE the restore information, but unless you have critical files, there you will be able to do normal backups with only a slight increase in the risk.
NEVER, NEVER PUT CRITICAL FILES ON YOUR SYSTEM PARTITION-you should have only the OS files there.

I'm not running XP but Windows 2K Server. Almost every hour I've been monitoring the status of the remaining disk space. There are times that the disk space will recover by having an increase of 2-3 MB then after a couple of minutes, 5-10MB is eaten up and unaccounted for. What really worries me a lot is that time will come when there's no more free space in my C:\ or system drive. By the way, I only use this drive for the OS alone.

What is your SwapFile(virtual memory) set to?
That is what it sounds like if you arent running any applicatiions that can be tied to the increase/decrease of the free space.
Try moving the swap file to a different hard drive if possible or a different partition if you dont have an extra drive to move it to. then check to see if your free space stops changing.

The Paging File or Swap File is not set on C:\ but on D:\. Just now, the free disk space on C:\ has further reduced to 488 MB. Two days ago it was about 500+ MB. Will this post a big problem if it will go down to zero space?
