Managing MP3's Software Wanted

I have some MP3's that I want to manage, that is I awnt to be able to cut out some parts of the file itself. For example a song is 3 min, but I dont like the last 1 min of it, so I want a software that can help me to cut out that part from the MP3 file. I dont know where to look except here. I dont know how these programs are called. Or how this process is called. Is there any software (preferable freeware) that can help me do this? Thanks for listening

dan

It's shareware, not freeware, but mp3Trim can do that without having to decode/re-encode. I don't know of any freebies off hand that can do that without having to decode first and then re-encode (you lose quality doing that).

Oops, apparently there's a free version and a Pro version, with the free version having a limited file size it will work on.

If you happen to have Nero 6, it has a built in audio editor that works great. Not sure if it's available in the demo version though.

I had the Nero 6 trial version a while ago. I thought it was exacly (or not much difference for my needs) as version 5. So I have the version 5, and I already have the 5 whole version in a CD so its ok, but thanks for the tip anyways!

JohnE. the software you recommended works perfectly! I didint even have to install it in my computer, worked after unzipping it right away. Its fast and easy to use. Thanks for that!

Your welcome, glad I could help! I use it all the time to fix bad last frames that occasionally turn up with downloaded mp3's.
