dvd regions set-up?

Hi all,

I think this is a dumb question, but I'll ask anyway, because that's what us nerdgirls do.

Is it possible to set a DVD drive to any region you want? I was thinking of getting a second DVD-ROM to use for non-region 1 DVD's.

Or, is there a better way to do that?

Find a 'region-0' DVD player. They plan all region discs. You can get 'hacked firmware' that lets you play whatever region you want too, but it's not legal (I don't think...). You can also change teh region of the player a set number of times (5), but you usually can't change to region 0 unless you have a very nice player.
