Swap/page file on RAID5

Kind of a newbie question; I have a fileserver (MS Server 2003) setup on a bootable RAID 5 array. Currently the page file (some call it a swap file) is located on the array. Would I see any increase or decrease in performance if I move it to a disk that isn't part of the RAID array? Thanks for any help.

Sure. Sorry if I broke some sort of etiquette but I'm new at this and I thought this was the proper way to post a question.

You'll see the greatest increase if you put the pagefile on the fastest part of the fastest hard drive. If that's the RAID, then go w/ that.

I've never done it, but you could try putting your pagefile on both drives, your RAID and non-RAID.

What RAM are we looking at here?

The policy (space and logic permitting) is to put a page file on each physical disk or array available to the operating system. Windows will use any or all of them to better effect.
