Need suggestions for a new Sound Card

Need help with what type of soundcard I should get.

I want to use my PC as HTPC. Need a dolby digital output to my AV receiver. Is this even possible? How does it hook up to it? all of the cards I have seen only have the regular plugs on them.

Any suggestions on what card I should get?

Have you looked at the top of the line Sound Blaster Audigy? I think they might have the features you are looking for.

spdif is the easiest way to hook up to a reciever if it has it...sometmes the recievers call them optical...there are many cards with spdif ports on them

Thanks phenious and Headband. I haven't heard many good things about Creative cards.

I ended up getting a ChainTech av-710 card that has an optical out port on it. great price on it at newegg. Will definitely be a step up from my onboard audio that crapped out on me.
