Work USB to LAN Converter?

Hey everyone

I just set up a wireless network in my house and so far I'm loving it, one of the best improvements thus far.

I have one standard ink jet Epson printer connected to a Desktop PC via a USB cord.

when I'm across the house on my laptop and want to print something off I have to run across the house to turn the dell on. I began pricing LAN printers and found they are a bit pricey, my question is does anyone or has anyone have/heard of a convertor that would plug into my Epson printer via a USB cord and on the opposite end have LAN capabilites either Rj-45 or wireless? So instead of the USB cord to computer I have a little box that goes to the router?

Anyone understand that?

just wanted to know if it was possible or if I should leave for the patent office now

There are generic USB converters but I don't know if they would work with a printer.

A cheap USB print server: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/def...spx?EDC=467696

Alternate idea: you could create a batch file that remotely turns on your Dell computer (if the Dell supports WOL).

SOrry I'm not that keen on networking yet, haven't worked with it much in the past but I am now experimenting with it. I will definatley take a look at some print servers and see what I can find, I also didn't consider the batch file option......**shakes head**
