Low Level Format utilities

Is there a place where i can download a Low Level Format software that i can use with all HD or do i have to use one for every brand of drives ?

I remember awhile ago i use to have a floppy with a tool that was specifically design for Low Level Format but i can't seem to find it anymore so i'm looking for something that will replace it.

i use a program called powermax from maxtor i used it sucessfully on a seagate harddrive with no problems
