Havin a little fan problem

A few months ago i bought a p4 2.8 800fsb and some other stuff, ive been looking at this for a while but never really thought too much on it. My cpu temp at idle is around 57-59c, runnin crap it can get near 65c. Im using a volcano 7+ atm, but was using stock fan and still had near the same numbers. I remember reading that 45-50 or so should be the norm. Anyone got any suggestions on how to lower this temp?

thanks

the room temp matters alot also try to keep it 6 inches from the wall

also do you have many case fins...at a minimum you should have two intakes at the front and 1 out+the psu at the back...an intake dirrectly infront of or above the cpu will help too

maybe a new case is in order, maybe try taking the side panels off will reduce the temp too... doenst matter what heatsink and fan you have if that hot air cant go anywhere

runnin about 39 C with both sides of the case off, original HS and F, case is on the floor (hot air = up), so i wonder what could possibly be your problem? loose HS? should be snug. or you might need some thermal stuff

witch way is your fan blowing on your h/s most not all blow toward the cpu .the volcanno 7 + should be blowing toward the cpu . do you have a lot of dust build up in your h/s try using caned air it remove if so ,and dont spin fan with the caned air it may dammage the fan by spinning to fast. is you f/s on tight to you cpu, i know that the V7+ is a heavy h/s and if not on tight may increase your temps how much thremal paste do you have and what brand? too much or to little is not good eather
