no power--no boot

no fans no nothing
my Dads computer--my oldy has went south

800duron with 512 133 ram on Transcend atk4 mb, tnt vidio,maxtor 60g hdd, cd, yamaha burner

he shut it down and it won't restart!!

took it a part and with the mb with the vidio card-1 stick of ram tried to fire it ---nota thing

replaced the ps with a antec true power--nata

tried shorting the two softpower pins on the mb--nota

no fan nothing but the led on the mb come on!

What to check now??? Any thing to check??

Thought it was the PS but it wasn't--mb?
dont think it was ram cause i tried 3 diff sticks!

i dont have another compatable cpu to try or mb? What can i try to get it up??

I have my notebook hooked up to his 21"monitor so he can see it and use a computer and would like to get his up and running asap!

what would be the most efficient way to get it up and running with the least cost??

easiest way?? find a friend with an AMD comp...take your duron over to him and see if it works on his system...if it does then probably your motherboard is bad.

an 800 duron will boot up in just about any other AMD "socket a" motherboard...you dont have any buds with comps?

this just happened to me yesterday! what solved the problem is i switched to my old case

Did you check like the board for capacitor leakage?
Check out the forums at the mobo manufacturers' website to see if maybe the series of boards tend to die after a certain age (MSI 6330's were very prone to death after 10-14 months of usage, yours might be too).
