MP3's on CD

I have burned all my MP3's to CD and then I formatted the hard drive. Now I would like to put them back on the hard drive. Anyone know how to do this? I have Easy CD & DVD Creator 6.

did you burn it as a music disc or a data disc?

(Im assuming data)

if you burned it as a data, just drag and drop the mp3 over.

I am not sure but I think that Easy CD just gives you a choice of things you want to do and one of them is to burn MP3's so I must have taken that option and as a result they are likely burned as music. So am I out of luck here?

Even with the wizard..... they would have to be data if there are more than approx 20 files. The ebst thing to do is simply put the dick in and try to drag and drop (or copy/paste) the files into a directory on your hard drive. Then tell if that works or not.

Shouldn't be a problem. I have so many MP3s that I have them all backed up on CDs, even though I have tons of hard drive space. Just copy them back to where you want them. Complete reverse of when you copied them to CDs. If you did create a music disk, just rip them back off.

if it will play on a standard audio cd player then it is an audio cd and you will need to rip them to your harddrive with a program like musicmatch or something

if it is not then dust dragging and dropping to the correct dirrectory will work

I will try it and let you know. Just now I put the CD in my burner and was listing to some songs using WMP and I noticed that it had a provision to burn a CD so I tried it and it did burn one of the tracks to a CD so maybe I can recover the MP3's. Thanks for the info.

I dont think you have to use Easy CD Creator to drag and drop the MP3's from the CD to your computer. Its very simple. Go to the Windows Explorer, enter the CD, select all the MP3's, click copy, go to a folder where you want to have them in your computer, click paste. Is that simple.

Beware that when you copy the mp3's back to your harddisk they will be copied over as READ ONLY. Which means you won't be able to edit the ID3 tags.
To fix it just select all of the mp3's, right click and select properties... UNcheck the Read Only check box.
