(New) Asus P4G8x Deluxe Motherboard
(New) Intel P4-2.53Ghz (norwood processor chipset)
(New) PC3200 DDR Memory
(New) ATI Radeon 8500LE 64MB AGP video card
(New) Seagate Barracuda 60GB HD's
(New) Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-1712 Unit
(New) 3.5" Floppy Drive
(New) 17" Samsung 173T LCD Monitor

Problem is with the above mentioned stuff:
I plugged the power supply direct into wall outlet and switched power supply to on position. At this time I notice a green light on the motherboard come on. Then I proceed to press the computer case 'on' button but nothing happens. No beeps either. What am I missing? Help!!!! Trying to complete this system for my 5 year old.

Thanks.

Make sure that the CMOS jumper (next to the battery) is in the correct position. Check the manual for the correct position. This has happenned to me alot. The manufacturer says that this prolonges battery life.

If you make sure everything looks hooked up right and it still fails, take it completely apart and put it back together, oddly this works quite often. The led on your mobo is standard on all asus mobos, it means the mobo has power and acts as a reminder to flip off the PSU befor messing with internal components.

CMOS jumper was in the wrong position. Now its in the correct spot and system powered up. Now I'll hook up the rest of the stuff and see what happens. Many thanks.
