200 gig used hard drive, new computer..

hey, i'm building a new computer and i was wondering if i could partition my 200 gig hard drive so i can use that on it. The hard drive now is in an external case that i use with my mac. Can i partition and install windows on it, while keeping the files i want on it? thanks in advance

You should be able to use Partition magic, or another Partitioning software program to split the HDD. However, I'm not familiar with the way mac's utilize HDDs, so you may run into a file structure issue. This one may require a bit of research.
