Cendyne ext modem help

I had just purchased a Cendyne V.92 external serial modem--many of which are avail for under $20. I had read a thread about using other drivers (Zoom?) for this as Cendyne is out of business.
The driver now using is the software supplied and have been having problems with this W2K install:
After an amount of time, it seems to lose connection, although it is still connected (ghost)
When connecting, it states a 115.2kbps connection. With all older (internal) V.90 modems, I had been getting 53.3 or 52 consistantly.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Which chipset does it have on it? Maybe you can get a generic driver for that chipset that will make the modem work.I had to do that tonight to get one to work.Although it was a Jaton 33.6 modem I used Cirrus 56k drivers and it works great.

Oh, do you have Call Waiting. Don't forget to disable it in your DialUp sessions. The MOH stuff doesn't seem to work, so you have to disable CW (usually *70) or the CW tone will cause drops.
. And some times you have to delete and create all new DUN connectoids instead of just editing your old ones. Don't ask me why.

I would recommend the conexant modem (internal) available on compgeeks site instead of that one. I had it a few months ago and got nothing but trouble. Messed up alot and finally quit working totally. Got that conexant one from compgeeks and it does the connecting stuff faster than the one in my old system. It's only like $8 too.

I'd also recommend callwave. It can take messages from people who call while your online then download and play them. It's a great help for being online alot.

Bump...
Still no luck with this. I committed to buying 2 of these and going back to internal now isn't an option.
Any driver suggestions that work with this?

Didn't you get the PM I finally sent you? The site for the standard drivers is: www.amigo.com.tw and the equivalent model is the AME-CA95. Those drivers are working fine for me.
