CD ripper with FLAC encoder

Hello all,

Hopefully this should be easy. Does anyone know of a free cd ripper that will encode to FLAC. I know GRIP will but I was hopeing for a windows one as well.

I only know one great encoder program, free software, but it uses LAME encoder. Does it have to be FLAC? If so then I cant help you

Yup it has to be FLAC, or at least some sort of lossless compression.

OK nevermind I now have FLAC working with EAC so all is good.

I recommand wm9 lossless compression but I know you hate word "windows". Oh well, that too bad.

Why do you recomend WM9 lossless. Got any sites comparing it to flac?

There's a few requirements I need of an audio format as well. I have to be able to encode and play it back in linux, in XMMS. I also have to be able to play it back in winamp5. It would also be perferable to be able to rip the disc with EAC.

If WM9 can do all that with ease then I may give it a look, but if it cant, or if its to much messing around, then its useless to me.

If you got it working with EAC don't even bother with WMP9.

Nothing beats EAC in Windows for good rips.
