clone cd virtual drive question

hey,

i own the game black mirror. i have it installed but every time i need the cd in the drive to run it. isnt there a way clone cd can be used to create a virtual cdrom drive?

maybe im doing it wrong but my cdrom drive letter is E: and the virtual drive is G:

if i right click on the virtual drive and choose mount, how can i mount the cdrom? it only lets me mount images like an .iso image or clone cd image. theyre forums are down since the product is no longer distributed. any pointers? i didnt find the answer in the help menu.

you need to read the cd to the hard drive as an image first... then mount that game by right clicking, mounting, and choosing the game image from where you saved it.

ok, sounds right but one question. do i need to change the virtual drive letter to match what the original cdrom that the game was installed on? because i can mount the image, but the shortcut to run the game still looks for E: from where it was originally installed of course and it always checks for the cd at startup.

you might need to re-install the game from the mounted drive

some games automatically looked for other cdroms, and some want it only in that one cd rom.

what you could do is change your default (e) to the mount drive. but thats alot more work

there should be no need to change the Drive letter of the virtual drive, either it will just work, or you will need the edit the registry settings for that game.

thanks GZ3, i DID end up reinstalling with the virtual drive, but it was tricky as i had to image disc 2 and make another virtual drive and point it to that when it asked for the second disk during install.

problem is though, on startup it has its copy protection disc check thing run and it doesnt see the cdrom in anydrive snd doesnt let me browse for it so it looks like im SOL for now. if i have to use the cd, i have to i guess.
