Hey I wanna play my friend on Americas Army through lan... I don't know if it is possible though. I am using a wireless connection and the other computer is using hard wire. Is there any way that I can have a different IP Address so that I can play him or is it impossible? Netgear MR814 v.2
anyone behind the router has a different ip address. its needed because if information was sent and two computers had the same ip it wouldnt know where to send it.
i never played AA but all you have to do is load up the game, go to multiplayer and click lan games. Have one person host a game and you should be able to join it
Well I was looking at my router advanced settings and it said u can't be playing the same game at the same time or be on IM at the same time etc. So that is why I am asking
i know you can be on IM at the same time, me and my brother and occasionally my mom are on simultaniously (sp) idk about the games but there wouldnt be a problem i dont think
So you have two computers in your LAN, and want to use one to Host AA server and the other to play on?
If so, that can work. You have to setup your router to forward the appropriate ports to your LAN AA server. I think there are 2 or 3.
Btw, I have a private server on a T1 you could use sometime. PM me if your interested.
