Laptop Question

Okay now on the actuall laptop there are two mouse buttons and on the keyboard of the laptop is the little rubber button to move the mouse icon.

These are not working, how do i activate them in windows 98 se?

I hope I am not confusing anyone, so just one more time for clarification, imagine using a laptop without attaching an external mouse, but instead using the "keyboard mouse" or whatever it is called, how do i activate this?

thanks.

You may need a special program. Mine is called "Synaptics TouchPad". It may just be a driver you need. Check the manufacturer's site.

yes it most likely requires a program to use the mouse. i dont understand why it wouldn't be installed. have you formatted the laptop and didn't use the restore cds to install windows or something like that?

The laptop belings to my gf, it's a 4 year old Toshiba Satelite 4090CDS, but it turns out that the touchpad stops working when an external mouse is attached, something I did not since I don't have a latop, but all is good now

Thanks guys.
