iTunes and DRM

I have heard alot about the digital rights management properties of the iTunes software and have a question. With this new Pepsi promo, what keeps someone from downloading songs, burning them to a CD, then ripping them? Especially if ripping them on a machine without iTunes installed?

I'm not trying to circumvent the law or anything, in fact, I don't drink Pepsi (more of a Dr Pepper kinda guy), just wondering how fool proof the sysytem is, especially for all the hype I hear.

I've "heard" that in the rules of Itunes you are only allowed to distribute "legally" the song to three computers

Also heard on the radio that the catch of the promo is the songs last for 30 days, not sure if that is true or not??

I think however when it comes to burning them to CD's or whatever, it's just a loophole that you as a good citizen are to stay away from!

I was just wondering because I've heard so much about how they are so strict on the licensing right once you've downloaded the music.
