Are you talking about from a floppy or like how it was done with windows 9x?
The thing about windows 2000 was that they didn't include dos, instead decided to just emulate a dos envirorment instead of just building windows atop of dos.
So no you cannot really boot into dos. Besides if your using ntfs you would need a special build of dos to view ntfs.
You still can with a bootable floppy, but there isn't a need to these days.
If you must do so for some reason use this site: http://www.bootdisk.com/
There is a boot disk that you can make in windows 2000 by selecting add boot files when formating a floppy you can boot into a dos envirornment, except for dos is pretty much obsolete these days..

The thing is that I have a virus that won't let me open any progmams. W32.Yaha.C@mm, I think... Do you think that if i boot into dos and run the disk with the antivirus I will get rid of it?

I would suggest using a virus scan disk such as norton that can boot from the disk and scan, tho it may not get that virus.

Try booting into safe mode with networking or if you can still run IE just use house call to scan your pc from online.

Command A/V will let you scan (and boot from dos) to check your system when faced with this type of problem. Have so far found this to be the best. Norton has a tendancy to rename files so the removal of them is very difficult at the least, (although it does stop them from executing) so total removal is not always accomplished. Command does not rename, it quaratines, asks you if you want to remove, then follows your instructions. Good luck! http://www.authentium.com/
