help files and search not working!

just recently i've found that the search in explorer doesn't work. when i type something to search and click enter i know it's not doing anything because it immedialelty says it has found nothing (takes longer to search drive then that). Any ideas?

Also, the help files quit working yesterday (including XP help and support center). I think that maybe this might be caused by Lightstep though because I installed it yesterday. I think perhaps the search doesn't like me to not have explorer as the shell.

It's possible they are not compatable. Have you tried uninstalling Lightstep and then if necessary recovering back to before you installed Lightstep?

The search thing was not working before litestep.

help files seem to be working now but the support center still doesn't. I guess it's depedent on explorer.
