overheating

Hi everybody,

It might not be a new and interesting subject but I am just wondering if you guys have any "big" problem with overheated laptop surface. It would be normal having some heat if there is P4 3.2ghz processor,60gig 7200 rpm HDD and 128 Mb video card
but the question is that how much heat I should expect.I know they use desktop processors but somehow this sproblem should be well addressed and solved. I have aviator NX6 with given properties above, I got it couple of days ago and I cannot keep my palms on the laptop and cannot touch the touchpad,I feel like my fingers are burning.
Any experience such as mine? Please let me know what you think and what kinds of experinces you have had with such "heat" problem using such configuration above. (65C by SpeedFan in approximately 45 minutes.) If any of you guys has aviator GX8 I would love to hear your story on this issue.

Thank you for your time to read and to answer this thread.

That's way too hot (obviously ). They should get hot but not that hot. If you just purchased it can you take it back to the store and explain to them? Run it at home until it gets that hot and then turn it off and high-tail it to the store to show them. You may have to run it but not as long.

Hi SeanC,
Thank you for the reply SeanC.
I already explained the problem to them and they were kind enough to get it back. Moreover, they even offered me to keep the old system home until I get the new one. Since I needed a powerfull machine instead of canceling the sytem I changed the model to GX8(was NX6)hoping that GX8 would have better cooling sytem.Afterall it is thicker than NX6 and I believe there should be more room for the cooling parts.

I haven't seen any bad reviews about those two systems but I saw some on sager 8890(flexing keyboard) which has the similar case with aviator GX8. I hope I get lucky and GX8 turns out "cold" HOT machine. I will be posting my experiences with GX8 as soon as I get it.

Cheers:Ersoy
