free router.... is it a good one?

OK a friend of mine just gave me a SMC barricade router. He said he couldnt set it up. This guy is just barely computer literate so i dont know.. is this a good router??

I would have little concern protecting my home network with a SMC router.

OK well i was gonna test it. i thinki need to reset it do you happen to know how to reset this thing?

our router has a little area on the front where you just take a pencil and hit the button in that place... to reset it

I've been using an SMC Barricade 7004 for a couple years now. I'm very satisfied with it and have never had any problems with the router or intruders. This router is very popular and is sold under other brand names including D-Link [not sure of model #]

Only discrepancy I have with the review mentioned above is the price, I only paid about $45 for mine.

Well, I haven't ever used a SMC router, but why not give it a shot? - It was free!

well the manual on the CD says that the orange M1 light is suppose to blink when i turn it on But all the indicators are showing im connected.

ok its suppose to be a 5V adapter and i was using a 4.5V and the m1 wasnt showing up well i tried a 5v and still nothing
