verizon wireless internet...

has anybody tried that verizon wireless internet plan they have for 79USD/mo for unlimited access??

if so whaddya think of it? is it reliable? how fast is it actually? what kind of problems have you encountered if any?

I work on the road alot and going from a 3Mb cable connection to a 56k dialup is killing me. especially since I have been using dsl and cable for over 3 years now.

We just signed up for Sprint Wireless. We recieved the wireless card about 3 days later. Right now, they are giving $100 rebate on the wireless card, which is normally around $179.00 We signed up for the 2 year plan at $40 a month for 20mbs. (they do not work by minutes, but by the amount of data that is transfered back and forth.) $35 activation fee. $4 insurance for the card. They are running a promotion where you get 3 months of free overage, just so you can really see where you would fall as far as usuage. within 2 days, we went over the 20mbs. So it looks like we will upgrade to the $80 unlimited service. The bad thing is you have to sign the 2 year contract.

As far as the speed, it's about 3x faster than dialup. So you have to be prepared to slow down a bit, but not like a 56k connection. My boss said it was a little slow compared to dsl (well yeah) , but very manageable. As for the connection, you have to be anywhere where you can get a full sprint connection...if you are in a roaming area for sprint, you will not get a connection. You can check out the area that sprint covers on their website. Pretty Cool. My boss loves it for travel. She will try it out big time next week in Puerto Rico for a conference.

I did not know that verizon had the same thing. But you should check their (both sprint and verizon) coverage area to make sure it works for you.

hope this helps
