LCD connection help

i just salvaged an OPTREX 50218 lcd screen (standard hitachi hd44-whatever controller) from a local comp chop shop, and being a stupid newb to circuit diagrams and pinout wiring i need help. here is the pinout diagram i found:

DMC-50218N-B (AB) No.99-0093 OPTREX CORPORATION

1 VSS | Power Supply (0V, GND)
2 VCC | Power Supply for Logic
3 VEE | Power Supply for LCD Drive
4 RS H / L Register Select Signal
5 R/W H / L Read/Write Select Signal H : Read L : Write
6 E H,HšL Enable Signal (No pull-up Resister)
7 DB0 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation
8 DB1 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation
9 DB2 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation
10 DB3 H / L Data Bus Line / Non-connection at 4-bit operation
11 DB4 H / L Data Bus Line
12 DB5 H / L Data Bus Line
13 DB6 H / L Data Bus Line
14 DB7 H / L Data Bus Line



ok now what do i do with this info? i need someone to explain this as if they were speaking to an 8 yr old. what lines go to what? and when im done with that end, which port am i going to? and what are the connections when i get there (which pins to what connector)? i have 3 different lcd progs so....i should be able to control it once its hooked up (haha "should be able to")
