I'm planning to add another smaller HDD to our desktop PC and use it as a slave drive.
Question:
Do I have to install WinXP Home on the slave drive also?
I have formatted the drive before using the DOS command.
In fact, it still has Win98 SE on it.
To format in Windows I guess I select the drive, right click and choose "format"?
Can I use it then without the OS installed
on it for back-ups AND other applications?
yes you can and that is how you do it..... it will just be a different drive letter such as e:/ or something tho but you should have no problems...and if ya do, youve always got TechIMO
If you want to format the drive after you properly install the drive and boot up:
"Right" click My Computer > "Left" click Manage > select Disk Management > select the new drive (probably disk 1 not 0) > "Right" click and select Format.
