A7N8X- E Deluxe / Maxtor SATA HD / XP / Help ????

I built a new system.
A7N8X-E Deluxe
2800 " Barton Core "
Maxtor 120 gig Sata hard Drive
Windows Xp

The Bios see's the HD but when I try to load XP it states that the HD cannot be found.
I loaded Maxtors program and loaded the drivers of the floppy.
The jumpers are in the right place
What do I need to do to get windows to detect the HD.

HD is a Oem purchase.
Motherboard is retail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a true sata drive or is it on an adapter? I have seen problems with the maxtor drive and sata adapter here recently. If it is, it could be that.
Which jumper is in the right place? Sata drives do not need to be jumpered anymore so they dont have jumpers.
Try getting the latest drivers raid drivers as well

Just copy everything but the manual and program also the read me to a formated floppy and press F6 when it starts to boot from a scsi or raid device during the install.
You must load the drivers properly to get windows to install, that would likely be the problem that windows isn't seeing it.

You Where 100% correct. Once I loaded the most recent driver everything fell into place...
