Nforce2: upgrading drivers

Its been a while since I upgraded my Nforce 2 drivers and I was thinking about upgrading them. Although I don`t want to reformat!!

Can I do there steps....

1- Uninstall the ATI drivers
2- Uninstall Nforce Drivers
3 -Reboot
4-Install Nforce Drivers
5-Install ATI drivers\control Panel.

Will it work or I have to reformat?

Send a message via ICQ to JohnE.
Some people say, "Uninstall old drivers first" while some say, "Install new over top of old". I've tried both methods several times (and both in Safe Mode as well) and both methods have invariably brought me to the same conclusion: you have to reformat in order to upgrade nForce drivers (assuming you don't want to deal with a major headache).

Apparently, a simple upgrade works for some people but I've never had any success without a fresh reformat/reinstall, as my system gets all messed up doing it any other way... yrmv.

I've also tried it both ways
The best way for me was to uninstall the old version in safe mode and then reboot and install (which will of course require another reboot)

worked fine for me
