BOOTING Problem for DFI PM10-EL

I got DFI PM10-EL MOBO tried to install brand new Intel Pentium 4 w.4 400 FSB, with 512 PC 133 SDRAM DIMM

intially there was no activity on power on, then connected CASE power-on wire on MOBO, and now when I powern on Poswer Supply and then press ATX case on-off button, I get two LEDs on mobo, plus CPU and Power Supply fans comes up, but thats all no beep or no video..... also I am not able to shut down using CASE button I had to power off PSU ...

I am confused ........ please help .......

Either the case has problems with the motherboard, or the mobo is dead. The other option would be from insufficient/dead PSU. Try running the mobo without the case (power it on with a piece of metal by connecting the two points where the power button wires were) and also try with a different PSU.

try to keep this to just 1 thread so we dont get confused.


Did you just install the motherboard into the case?

If so it may be touching and shorting out on the case somehow...take the motherboard out of the case and set it on a table and try it like that.

yes it is a brand new CASE, MOBO and Intel P4 2.4 as well PC 133 512 MB Ram SDRAM DIMM

I will try booting up outside the case and then post the results

make sure to set it on non metal though or else it will conduct electricity

my MOBO has +12V power (ATXPI) and has 4 options
1 and 2 are ground and 3 and 4 for +12 V

and by default it is on 1

just wondering why these switches are for ?
