16 bit DOS, on XP + Network
Here is what is happening:
I have a 16 bit DOS program on the mapped network drive that runs a much needed program.
First I get these Run Time Error 200 errors
I think this is because my processer is too fast. I've dealt with this issue before, and found a program that is called SLowdown, that really helps.
Then I get errors in the programing that I know has worked for the last 12 years, and this is the first I'm seeing them, and only on Win XP machines.
I can not change the compatablity to Win 95, because that would hose everyone else not using Win XP.
Anyone have any ideas??

What's the exact error?
I'm not very sure how appcompat works, but I think you can create shortcuts which run the specified application in compatibility mode. Thus, you could make their own shortcut for xp users that runs the application in w95mode.

well you see windows XP has no DOS in it at all were as all the other windows desktop OS's have, but it has an emulator for DOS instead ............. well as you found this is pants and won't run complex programs as it is basically designed for batch files within windows so i would say there is really no way around this unless you downgrade or duel boot with windows 98SE not ME because it's version of DOS is pants as well. hope this helps

the error I am getting first is Runtime Error 200 at 2AFC:114D
The program is on a Win 98 machine. So I do not know about making it Win 95 Compatable. One thing I am currently trying is making a batch file, instead of using a shortcut and making that Win 95 compatable.

command n:\windows

There's a particular error in turbo pascal coded programs that makes code overflow if ran on too fast a computer.
I can't remember the exact error but it looks a lot like that.
It was computers above 200MHz that had the problem.

the link I posted earlier, leadds to a program called Slowdown
It helps with the Runtime 200 error. You ocan slow your computer down for just that one app.
somehting like: slowdown /s:0 c:\whatever
This will slow your computer down to zilch, just to run the app "C:\whatever"
