Gaming Iexplorer Problem

whenever i try to open IE(Microsoft internet exploroer) it gives me that "Send Error Report" bull, then it doesn't open. lately i have been using mozilla, but i would really rather have IE back. yahoo messenger(which uses the IE component for the message boxes i think) still works so i think its just IE itself. and solutions to this problem?

Have you tried the Internet Explorer repair tool? Which version of IE do you have...perhaps an upgrade to IE6 would do the trick.

well if they are the "critical updates" then you should do them all, lol.

I am assuming this is IE6 and xp.

Maybe someone can confirm how to do the repair.

It has to do with uninstalling IE6 but it gives you an option to repair.

Or you could look it up on microsofts "knowledge base"

knowledge base--> http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=fh;[ln];kbhowto

Article

one thing it says "If you are not already running the latest service pack for Internet Explorer 6, you can download and install the latest service pack instead of reinstalling your current version."

I had one do this to me today. Turns out the default search page was hijacked by another page with some bad code. Try starting IE while in safe mode and see if the search bar is open on the left hand side. If it is, try closing it and then set it to a known good search page. Reboot and see if it's fixed

IE works in safe mode, but still wont work in normal mode. any more suggestions?
