What power supply do you have in your machine? It may be underpowered.... or it may be overheating and shutting down to protect your CPU.

What are the "power save settings"..(or whatever they are called)

click the desktop...properties...screen saver...then "energy savings" etc.....is it set to go into standby or something after a certain time period?

Set everything to "never" and see what happens

MIght want to eliminate heat as a problem.

Go into setup, system health page, and watch the CPU tem for at least 10 minutes. If if continues to rise above 55C the heatsink is not transferring heat properly, probably shutting down around 60C.

Might read the voltage control section of the motherboard manual, see if it has a setting for overheat protection. If is is set to disabled, it might be shutting down at a lower temp. Try setting it to 60C, and see if it eliminates the problem.

if my understanding is right...........and it might not be.........hibernation is just like switching off.........except that when you switch on again those apps that you were running will be present on your desktop in the state that you left them.

your mouse and keybord like mine.........(with some letters missing).........have the option enabled that allows them to bring your pc out of standby

trygo to control panel--mouse--hardware--properties--power management, and you'll see what i mean

cheers
