Is this normal?

I have an asus p2l97 with a PII350 on it doing 291mhz? a little confused.

Its definately underclocked. Go into the BIOS (or check the jumpers) to see if the FSB and other settings are correct

Was it running at 350 before?

Had a friend, who after a power surge complained his computer was running really slow. I checked the bios and the surge had reset it to defalut values. a p3 750 running at 300.

ok, i checked and its at 83mhz multiplied by 3.5x its a 440lx chip hehe, that explaines it!

THe P2-350 is designed to run at 100mhz bus speed.....you need a P2-333 which runs at 66mhz fsb clock speed...then if you can get it to run at 83mhz youd have a p2-418mhz
