AHHHH! My PS2 stopped working

ok, no I am really angry,

I got my PS2 a few years back, today I go to play some smackdown and while I play the music is cutting out,, and strange noise are coming from my ps2, weird sounds from the dvd drive, clicking etc. So I shut it off, clean the disk etc, put it back in now all the drive does is click and groan and make other weird sounds. It turns on fine and such, reads the memory card fine but can't read Any game I have.

Obviously the dvd-drive is wanked or totally ruined. ( I also tried to blow down the drive in some sick hope that it was dust, but no luck )

so what am I to do? I'm sure the warranty is up, I sure as hell don't want to pay anyone anything to fix it. Can I just by a drive and install it myself?

Thanks

Yes the warranty is up. It was only 90 days to begin with.

Super comon problem. And is about impossible to fix without high technical skills. You can do a google search for repairing PS2 and try those things but more than likely your SOL.
