Bad CPU... I think

OMFG.... SO ANGRY...

2600+ Athalon XP- thot it worked, also tested 2000+ but i dont know if that one works
MSI k7n2 delta-just got a new one cuz thot the old one was dead... guess not....
geforce4 ti4600-known to work, also tested known to work mx440
2x 512 generic ram-known to work
2x WD 60 gb HDD-known to work
1x old 6gb HDD-known to work
1x 550watt PSU-known to work
2x monitors known to work

no post just fans, can open drives, only with the 2000+ in for some reason, dont say its the psu cuz same thing with others. whirring HDs tested all of em just for kicks. reset CMOS, nuttin.

ive done everything including taking it apart then rebuilding, reseating, removing unneccessary componants.

i think i listed everything needed so PLZ GOD TELL ME THAT ITS THE PROCESSOR AND NOT ME!.... i already contacted AMD, now im waitin for a reply to see if they can give me a new one.

what actually is the problem , you listed stuff you have done to it but what is the actual problem. when you have everything installed, and turn it on, what does it do. ???? Would be easier to help.

Do you get any beeps from the case speaker?

If you haven't already, unplug everything except the power supply, motherboard, processor, vid card and one stick of ram. See if you can get it to post like that. If it does, add one part at a time until it fails again.

Also make sure the power supply is set to 110v if you are in the states.

you could also take out the ram to try and get a beep and if you don't then it is probobly the cpu

i meant to try it with no ram...if it does give you beeps then you can usually rule out the cpu

yea i still got no beeps so hopefully AMD will be nice and get me a new one ASAP cuz 3 weeks without a computer is driving me FRICKIN insane... usually i enjoy my insanity, but htis is different

did you put on a new cpu, if you did, did you install the heatsink and fan correctly (not assuming you didn't) but if it is put on backwards, can crack cpu or damage it, heatsink has to be put on one way only...with thin layer of artic silver or some good thermal compound. Just thought i would post that...good luck
