old news to me, my friend.

i've been using a tri-panel 18 lcd display for nearly 2 years now. darned thing set me back over 5 grand, but i put every inch of that screen real esate to good use.

i'd take pictures to show you, but i'm too cheap to buy a digital camera. yeah....go figure?!? (waiting for a 5 megapixel to hit $300 and then i'll jump in).

nope, not interested.

for starters, i'd need a new computer table and more importantly, 4 displays is not ergonomic. w/3, you're centered in the middle and can see either panel, left or right with minimal head movement. with 4, you're stuck favoring one side or the other.

they know an awful lot more than alienware and the others judging by the quality of the hardware reviews they do.
lol, i just set up a system for over $9000 there, god-opteron.

damn, can't manage to spend less than $5000, I hate cutting corners.

to be honest, most of the high end vendors that do gaming machines all use similar parts, etc. if you look at their custom add-on options, that is pretty evident.

but what has impresed me about gamepc is that they've taken the time to review and just as important, actually *write* about how a dual opteron matches up against an dual amd MP box, and how it matches up against a dual xeon setup. and the same for the amd 64 chips against the p4ee and others.

if alienware has posted similar reviews, i've have yet to come across any.

i've never bought a gamepc...they could have bad customer service or whatever...but based on their articles, they seem to know what they're talking about.

Well their very nice but I wont be needing a monitor since I have one that I like. I too hate cutting corners thats why even if a system costs 2,500 I want it to have components that the competition wont. Like Alienware will be cheaper than voodoo but not have the cooling system Voodoo has.

i would check out what TSS on techtv is using for their UGM 8.0 and configure a system from someone with what it has. like Athlon 64 3400+, Radeon 9800XT, WD 74gb Raptor, etc.
