wireless wol

Im just starting out getting the information together to make a wireless home network,I have a few questions though I hope you can answer please?
I intend to put one of the wireless networked pc's in a remote location but within range. If a motherboard supports "Wake on lan" ,do wireless network cards also?
Once the PC is woken on the Lan via wireless how do I shut it down remotely after I have finnished what I need to do,so that its not permantly burning electricity? (Is there a sleep on lan function?)
Will certain acpi functions help me in this situation?
