Cingular to buy AT&T Wireless

For $41 billion. Should be a good deal in the near term for Cingular and AT&T customers, since they get some expanded coverage. I think it also pushes the wireless internet access issue forward.

On the other hand, less competition is never better.

ATT is the most demeritorious, meretricious, iniquitous, blameworthy, dire, dirty, disgraceful, dishonorable,
disreputable, distressing, dreadful, execrable, faulty,
god-awful, grievous, grim, intolerable, miserable,
opprobrious, overwhelming, reprehensible, rotten,
scandalous, sickening, stinking, terrible, unbearable, wretched, corrupt, criminal, depraved, flagitious, immoral, nefarious, perverse, reprobate, villainous company in the world!

And Cingular is the SAME!

Both their services and packages stink and they always require me to put forth a 1000 dollar deposit for their phones and services. Sprint has a better coverage area and better packages.

*There ya go!

another vote for AT&T they truely have unlimited nights and weekends. Others like cingular give you 1500 nights and weekends and call it "unlimited" because they dont think you can talk over that number but if you do, you will be charged. The other thing I like about AT&T is that if I know ive gone over my minutes I can bump up my plan before the end of the month and it will cover me for that month. Then after the bill i bump it back down for the next month

I just switch from at&t to optonvoice. This is a new server in my area. Its the same server that I use for cable and online. The good deal here is that I pay only 34.95 a month for unlimited calls anywhere within the U.S., call waiting, three way calling, and caller ID. Can't beat that deal.
